Just a week after launch, Garmin’s new Fenix 8 Pro smartwatch is already receiving its first software update. Rolling out globally, System Software 18.41 delivers a wave of early fixes and quality-of-life improvements particularly for users relying on messaging features.
Fenix 8 Pro Now Running System Software 18.41
This isn’t a beta test. Garmin has released the update as a stable build on a separate development track from the regular Fenix 8 series. While the Fenix 8 has also received a new update recently, the Fenix 8 Pro’s rollout is entirely independent, signaling its unique software branch.
If you’re picking up the Fenix 8 Pro now (currently priced at $1,199), expect to be prompted to install this day-one patch during setup.

The update mainly focuses on bug fixes nine in total and delivers three usability improvements, most of which target Messenger app behavior, stability, and layout during real-world use.

- Resolves crashes and layout issues in Messenger chat and call threads
